Please follow these instructions to successfully tag documents for Projects added to your Company Assets in Symphony.
Step 1. Prepare your Documents
Step 2. Reference your Documents in My Company
Step 3. Reference your Documents in your proposal
1. Prepare your Documents
All proposal documents should be in Adobe (.pdf) format. All validation documentation submitted should be highlighted and contain comments (“tags”) indicating the specific reference for validation.
You can use the notes function in your PDF and Symphony will search for the text in your comments (annotations). The evaluators will be able to locate these claims more quickly and you are ensuring they are looking where you want them to look.
2. Reference your Documents in My Company
Go to My Company, Projects/Past Performance. The most important part of “tagging” is that your PDF comment matches the reference you use in Symphony for that specific claim. You can add and remove documents, and edit/update your reference tags as needed.
- Create a Project Experience to reference.
- Upload your supporting documents.
- Reference your documents
When answering a question, each document you reference, which may be more than one, will be linked to the question it is applied to, and the reference tag will guide the evaluators to the comment you create in your document(s). Tags for a specific claim can be used more than once in the PDF document.
The Tag legend only applies to the core project details in your Company assets because this data is the most reusable. The recommended tags are:
COSTS | Other Direct or Indirect Costs |
CR | Cost Reimbursement |
FTE | Full-Time Equivalents |
LOCATIONS | Number of locations |
NAICS | NAICS |
OCONUS | Outside of the Continental United States Work |
POP | Period of Performance |
TCV | Total Contract Value |
TEAMING | Subcontractor/Teaming |
Best Practices:
- You do not need pool-specific documents in your My Company project documents.
- For consistency, only use one tag per claim in Symphony.
- You can add tags throughout your document(s).
- Make sure your tags match in both your PDF(s) and Symphony so that the evaluators can easily find the support for your claims.
3. Reference your Documents in your proposal
Go to your Dashboard, Solicitations, and then your Submission. In Projects, add the Performance Factors to your project experience to earn additional points for the solicitation. If you have a keyword already in your document, enter it into the tag (location in file) field.
During an evaluation, we will find all instances of your "tag" in one or more documents that you select for the file reference field. The evaluator will see everything you enter in the "location in file" field.
